This penthouse renovation centred around one bold structural move: completely reworking the position of the staircase. Rather than treating it as a purely functional element, we reimagined it as a architectural feature in its own right: repositioning it to open up the flow of the space and create a far more dramatic sense of arrival. The result immediately elevates the feel of the entire home, turning what was once an afterthought into one of the penthouse's defining moments.
Beneath the new staircase, we introduced a custom bar fit-out, making clever use of what would otherwise have been dead space. It's a detail that speaks to the broader philosophy of this renovation - every element pulling double duty, both beautiful and purposeful. To tie the staircase itself into the penthouse's elevated aesthetic, we finished it in Venetian plaster, giving it a soft, tactile, almost sculptural quality.

The kitchen received an equally considered upgrade, anchored by the addition of a walk-in butler's pantry and laundry. This addition was about more than just extra storage - it allows the main kitchen to stay clean, uncluttered, and visually calm, while all the practical, everyday mess is tucked away out of sight. It's the kind of feature that transforms daily living, letting the owners entertain and enjoy their kitchen without ever feeling like it's a working space.
Together, these changes reflect a renovation focused on elevating everyday moments - from the way you move through the home via that reimagined staircase, to the quiet luxury of a dedicated butler's pantry. It's a penthouse that now feels as considered and refined as the views it looks out on.
